My friend in Menard got sentenced to 24 years.Convicted June 6th 2010
My brother in law/ best friend starts trial Aug 2nd he's looking at 20 to life if convicted
My babies daddy is looking at 7 to 15 yrs I'm not sure when he goes to trail he is being tried for the samething as my brother in law 1st degree murder and so is my friend.
My boyfriend is having a 402 confrence on Tuesday the 6th at Cook County Courthouse on 26th st. he has the option to take the time they are offering him 10 yrs at 50% for a home invasion but if he pushes to go to trial and the victims don't come his lawyer said it'll be thrown out but he has to wait 3 more months..

Honestly I don't know when my son will get out, he has no out date...he's under civil case. He was 18 when he got arrested Feb. 12, 09 went to prison Sept. 3, 10...We were told by son's public defender and DA that the average is 10 to 12 yrs...but since my son has been at BMR he says he's heard some have gotten out at 6 yrs...some are still there at 20 yrs..... Hoping for the best, but taking it day by day and most days aren't good..

HekLjp3  I can't imagine what your going through as mu LO has nothing near the sentences I see posted here.  But my heart aches for all of you that are left to endure these long sentences.  There are boards a plenty to post on here and work through your feelings.  And even more support by those who've been through it to share their insights with you.

Thanks im just thankful he is not serving the full 13 years so it could always be worse thats how i look at it and also its a huge learning expierence and when he comes home our love will be that much stronger knowing we got over that huge bump we can overcome anything and i also believe everything happens for a reason and that he could be way worse off if he hadnt went to prison so i have accepted it and so has he so knowing we are getting closer to the end everyday makes me more and more relieved !

My son is at Illinois River.  14 year sentence so 7 years at 50%..he is appealing..which takes forever I guess.    Been there 1 year.....a long 1 year... I can't imagine  the  20+ year people---..they made his  either  it is  consecutive when it should be concurrent or the other way around--if so  it will be 5 years  out in 2 1/2 years.  I keep praying this happens.  He is my only child so I miss him sooo much.

God Bless You All and give you strength to carry on each day! How difficult it is to have a loved one incarcerated!!! Previously I posted my son had 12.7 years and now he has 9 years...I am just focusing on the single digit for now.
Anyway, Have you all seen the movie Convicted with Hilary Swank it really was very good and reminds us to never give up and love never fails, never lose hope!! I cried the whole time........but then again I cry all the time...a reminder of my son will do that to me. So see the movie if you are able to and never give up!!

Happy Easter to all!!

My LO is my boyfriends brother.  He was transferred from cook county into prison in 1995.  He's serving 106 years.  I'm not sure of the percentage, but, he's got 18 down and is due out in 2045.  He's currently in Menard.  We're hopeful we can bring him home way before that though.  We will never give up!!
