I miss my honey!

« on: August 15, 2008, 09:35:38 PM »

I was wondering if anyone might know what happens if there is an active OP between a current inmate and an incoming inmate.  My husband has had an order of protection placed on him by my ex-husband and is at E. Moline.  My ex is at Stateville in recieving.  I am terrified that these two will come nose to nose and then do something stupid that will stop my husband from coming home to me next month.  I called Stateville and they said that unless my ex claims that my husband is an enemy, they could end up together.  My ex would love to cause problems for my husband and so I am guessing that he wont tell them anything.  He has been to Moline before around a year and a half ago and said that he hopes to go there again.  Is there anything that I can do to avoid the conflict?

Cant your current husband go to his counselor or internal affairs and let them know what is going on and see if they can stop the ex from coming there?  Just a thought.

Hi mommy..
They (stateville) sounds like they are messing with your head.  I know that those with an order of protection are PROHIBITED from visiting...hence, it seems natural to me that two individuals with an order of protection will not be placed in a cell together.

The probabilities of your two guys (one in E. Moline and one in R&C in Stateville) being together is quite remote. Many factors are taken into consideration.  Even in the most incredulous of situations, of both ending up in the same facility...there are many "houses" and sections....so not to worry.

Mommy, your husband should go to his counselor or internal affairs and declare your ex-husband an "enemy".  I do know one instance where my husband was called to internal affairs for an interview and was told he was declared an enemy by an inmate.  I suppose this inmate was looking to transfer to the same location as my husband but that never took place once IDOC knew what the situation was.  If all fails, your husband is going to take all measures to avoid any conflict with your ex.  I know it's hard but being that your husband has so little time, it's not worth risking it.

I totally agree with Schrader's advice.
