I would read the posts for all the womens prisons.  I am not sure why you think your LO will go to Kankakee as they are full 100% of the time unless they have been told that already.  When I was in prison I was a 3AL which is minimum security and I was not in Kankakee so just to be prepaired I would get the info on all of them.  Good Luck

wc30 Kankakee minimum security unit is right in my county. wc7 My mom baked cookies for the inmates this Christmas. My life long friend is the head of a well run and organized bible study group there. If your loved one is acctually fortunate to be there - I would be willing to go see them for you if you can not be there to visit. Also, I have donated Suits and other Job interview attire there for the ladies to wear when they re-enter the community. I say all this to let you know, while I personally have done very little, there is a strong support network for those at KMSU. Take comfort in that. Your loved one will be loved and watched over.  I pray for all the best where ever they go. wc30

Actually I thought it was sooo cool they actually got the cookies! How I would love to bake for my lo. I was a little envious. wc32

Thank you guys so much for the info...The last time I was able to talk to her before she went to Dwight she was informed that she would probably go there because fo the nature of the crime she was convicted of.  I didnt know that they stayed full I just hope she doesnt have to spend too much time at Dwight.  Wishful thinking I guess. Thanks for the support wc14

wc6  Hey guys, just wanted to come back and say that my LO did make it to KMSU..I am soooo grateful.  I went for my first visit with her today and got a lot of comfort from knowing that it truly is a relatively lax facility as far as prisons go.  Still hate it that she has to be there but not as bad a place as most
