Well I don't know what's gonna happen, but my LO called yesterday and he is going in front of the parole board on July 6th! He has been incarcerated before and he says he is usually released a week later. He said that the parole board just gives you info on your obligations when you get out. As I said before he was supposed to be home May 17th, but with the Good time hold that of course has passed! I am praying that something has gone through that he is getting out this month. His original outdate is not until Nov. 17th. He is very excited because he has talked to counselors and his Doctor, so something or someone is telling him to hold tight because something is going to happen very soon!! I'll keep everyone updated on this matter!!

I was going crazy. I read the petition was up on July 4th. The goal was 4,000 I found this petition on June 29th. My number was 2992 I think I have had it plastered on facebook and text messaging. There is over 4,000 now. My question is what happens next, when does the governor see the petition. I was just wondering if anybody knew information

Dazzler will review the signatures on the petition, and purge the duplicates and pranks. At the point it will be most effective, she will print the entirety of the petition and send it to Gov. Quinn.
Please note, this is just our way of showing a large voting block and voicing our opinions on a singular issue. This is not a legal document. We're hoping he'll read over it and act, but he could just as easily toss it in the trash. Neither Quinn, nor any other politician, are required to act upon anything once they receive our petition. I say this so that no one gets their hopes up or expects an immediate response.

Well I havent posted in a while but I do check several days a week to see any new status on the good time.If I trust anybody it's Dazzlers feedback. She really knows what shes talking about. "Conveniantly" the budget isnt supposed to be signed till 2 days after election in November. As Daz predicted.I just dont understand how they could be so over crowded and wait all the way till November as the crowding builds up.Isnt there anything more we could do besides the petition???I mean would a rally or protest be effective at all?I just want my husband and my brother home already. My husbands MGT date would of been July 15th but I dont see that happening so now we must see what happens. His projected parole date is January 15th...is there any chance he may be home sooner then January?

Is it possible? Yes. Many on here have taken the viewpoint of simply expecting to see their loved ones on their actual release date, and IF they get out earlier, then they consider it a happy blessing. It is a very healthy way to look at things.
A rally or phone campaign probably wouldn't do much. Right now, the budget problems don't really mean anything to the politicians. They are more concerned with their elections. We all know reinstating MGT will help with the overcrowding in the prisons and reduce some of the money problems, but they are afraid of not appearing "Tough on Crime." The politicians want the uniformed public to think their chief concern is keeping streets safe. If Governor Quinn tries to reinstate MGT now, all of his opponents will start claiming he is relesing dangerous criminals. He won't take that chance. That is why Dazzler predicts nothing will be done until after the election in November.

Yes, it's politics - November seems like the soonest. So sad the lives of so many people are affected by someone wanting to win an election!!! I'm in the same boat impatientlywaiting. My son should be home tomorrow, but I will figure sometime between then and January 8th. I was wondering, though, if it is before his January release date, will we/he get notice or will we just get a phone call that he's being released then and there? Guess this is all new nad we just wait and see! I'll just keep checking in to this site because Dazzler is my connection!

i just dont see how they find these inmates living conditions right.it seems that once our l/o's go into the system they become just a number but to us they are still our sons,daughters,fathers,husbands,etc...i almost feel like its going to take something horrible before november to happen in order for quinn to act on anything.im sure with all the confusion on the good time inmates are getting frustrated as well as the guards having to work double shifts because of the over crowding.are they thinking about the guards safety?how is one alert on a 16 hour shift????half of these prisons dont even have a/c & with the over crowding and it being hot things just might get a little tense.i could only imagine all the stuff we dont hear about!it just makes my blood boil!!!everyday my husband calls and everyday he asks if i heard anything on the good time..how do tell him anything without giving him to much hope but not too much heartbreak?and all the rumors flying around isnt helping any matters!i truly hope they fix this matter soon and stop being so blind to others pain and suffering!debbier,m sorry were on the same boat here,as many more are,i wouldnt wish this chaos and confusion on anyone!illinois is just one big hot mess!!!!!!! <~~~ TAKE THAT QUINN!!!!

debbier--- Yes, he will get notice that he is being released. They don't just kick them out on the street. He'll have plenty of time to make arrangements.
impatiently-- I hate to say this because it makes me sound cold-hearted. To the powers-that-be, our loved ones are numbered livestock. They are creatures to be corraled and controlled. Unfortunately, most of the public feel the same way. It isn't fair to be treated the way they are, but it is the life they (and us) must live for a period of time. I would find a way to be gently honest with your loved one about good time. For the next few months, there is no good time. He will be better off, ultimately, if he knows the truth.

My LO just seen the parole board on July 6th. He was supposed to be out May 17th with the good time, but that has passed! He has been incarcerated before and was released a week later, after seeing the parole board. I am praying that everything goes good. He had a good hearing and was just told to follow up with PO obligations and mental health issues. He asked the parole guy if and when he would be released and he said real shortly. Also my LO told me the prison he is in is not overcrowded at all, others may be, but they are definitely receiving more inmates daily. Maybe they are releasing nonviolent offenders, as I heard before on here could happen. I pray daily that he will be home within a couple of weeks. He has not received any tickets or been in any trouble since being there. That also is a good thing they look at. He told me many inmates that did not get out for there good time are acting out and getting tickets constantly. I am so glad he is not one of them. Specially the heat is causing alot of fights and so on!! I will keep everyone updated on this matter and if he gets out!!! Quinn is definitely a Jack A@@!!!

Thanks, Marks_guy - had focused on July 8th for so long, now having no exact date, didn't know what to expect. I actually scheduled a vacation day for this homecoming that wasn't! Ahh, time to regroup.

I really think Patt Quinn himself should make some kinda speech and let us know whats going on. This isn't fair to any of us with L/Os locked up. My tears are real, my heart is broken. My taxes are being used for what? Sure cant say for IL. use. If so I'm not seeing anything good come from my taxes. My L/O should have been home last month now I'm waiting for a Dec. out date. I cant take much more of this. I'm sure there are alot of people out here that feel the same. Patt Quinn do your job bring back goodtime as it was. Stop tryn to fix things that aren't broken. Just like a bored man to do that. How do we get through to help this along???? I need my L/O home as he should be.

Right now, we are just playing the waiting game. As was said before, Quinn will not do anything to jeopardize his re-election. By keeping people locked up, he appears to be "Tough on Crime," which makes him a hero to the uninformed (and mostly uncaring) public.
My deepest sympathy goes to you who have loved ones in past the time they thought they would be released. Stay strong and know your blessed days will come!

Hey Dazz, I was just wondering if the Gov's office gave you any type of reply, pertaining to the petition that you presented?

Has the petition ever been sent to QUINN???? With all the waffling he is doing, and indecisiveness, Perhaps it should be sent NOW, and maybe he will just let ALL inmates OUT by mistake......And remove the entire WEB site, if some important republican asks him to. Maybe we should have Jim Edgar give him a call....GEESH!!!!!

I think it's important that we all remember to vote when election comes around and to keep in mind while we are voting that Brady wants to open more prisons and wants our loved ones who are in prison right now to serve more of their prison sentence before they even qualify for MGT.....Quinn is just stalling until after election if he wins again i think it will be good despite what's going on right now with it even though i am very heartbroken that i can't be sure my husband is going to be home by december it could be as late as june 2011 and we just recently had a baby and are struggling we need him here, but all we can do is be hopeful and pray GOD IS GOOD ALL THE TIME;) ALL THE TIME GOD IS GOOD;)
