Callling cards work in the Federal prisons but not in IDOC.

So has anything gotten better with phone service for out of state calls? I know when Jo  was alive it was about $30 a call. Has it changed? I still keep in touch with one of his friends at Menard... just wondered if Consolidated still handled the calls and if calls were allowed to cells if that's the only phone?!!!!

They allow inmates to call cell phones.

I am in California and the calls are a little more than $10, yes they used to be over $30. I have calls coming to my cell phone, you have to prepay.

Has Consolidate changed the rules for new accounts in regards to cell phones?  My husband calls to my cell phone and I don't use pre pay.  I have had the same account for years though so I am just curious.

I have gotten different answers from Consolidated, but apparently anyone out of state now has to pre-pay. Things seemed to change when they were changing the phone system.
