Hello Members and Guests.

Today we are marking our fifth anniversary of Illinois Prison Talk.  It seems like just yesterday we were a handful of stragglers that were floundering through the incarceration of a loved one in the Illinois Department of Corrections.  The original founding group's goal was to share simple information about current lockdowns, visiting hours, and to have a place to communicate with others involved with the Illinois prison system.

Well, here we are five years later with the #1 resource for Illinois prison information available on the internet.  We've grown to over 8,400 members and 94,000 existing posts in 4,500 topics.   We've had over 12 million page views of this website.  It's astounding to see our members joining from six different continents and dozens of foreign countries.  We've been visited by every state in the Union.  Our forum is active 24 hours a day with our international members.

We have gathered the largest photo album of Illinois prison photographs in existence.  Our photo and inmate artwork galleries are very popular attractions to guests.  The Illinois inmate newsletter "Stateville Speaks" is available for reading online and it brings many visitors to our forum.  When we added our  Nationwide Inmate Locator to our already existing IDOC, Federal and Cook County locators, we became the best source for inmate information for private citizens and numerous government agencies around the world.

Because our membership boasts many prison-related organizations and prison advocates we are able to network with other groups for positive changes for our inmates.  Their outstanding support for our projects is very appreciated.  In turn, IPT'ers have supported many other outside projects that have been introduced by our member organizations.  We'd like to thank all these groups and individuals for their continued support and input and we pledge our continued support to your organizations.

To all our family members and friends of those incarcerated we thank you for your never-ending loyalty to this forum and to your fellow members.  Your participation is what makes IPT a successful combination of current information, resources and amazing support to others as they enter and journey through a difficult situation.

The Administrative Staff would like to thank all our Support Staff members and forum moderators for their time and talents which keep this forum functioning day-to-day.

Thank you to all our members who share so freely their knowledge and experiences.

Our motto at IPT is "Hope".  We hope that in each of your lives IPT will help lighten the personal burden which you carry and improve conditions for all our men/women incarcerated in Illinois prisons.

Happy Anniversary IPT'ers.

A very special extra THANK YOU to the administrators of this forum.  They make this forum a great place for the lost and confused families of IDOC inmates.  Another special thank you to all the support staff and moderators for jumping in and answering questions or just being there for support.  To the rest of the members you are not forgotten.  With the numerous people who have joined this forum the information IPT provides is a much needed stepping stone for families, loved ones, ex-inmates, advocates and supporters. The daily interaction of everyone helps the forum run rather smoothly on a day to day basis.  I am proud and honored to be a support staff member on this wonderful forum.

Ditto....and special thanks to you too Marks Guy as IPT would not exist with the success and growth if it weren't for all your dedicated efforts!!!

Likewise my thanks to all those who pay it forward creating a family of support and knowledge in a world many outsiders neither know nor fully understand.  I can't even begin to count the hours and stressed nerves I've saved having found IPT.  Congratulations on 5 years and may there be many more as long as there is someone out there looking for answers.

I am always so very impressed when I read a thread from somebody who's l/o has just went into IDOC and they have so many questions of the speed, information, and support the admins and members give.
I was once in their place and looking for somewhere to turn, little did I know IPT would become such a huge source of information, support, and even entertainment.

Congratulations on your 5th Anniversary!
I can never thank you enough for what everyone has done for me here.

wc48 I personally would like to thank everyone for being involved in the site. I have learned so much about IDOC and different topics. I have also been able to make new friends who share some of the same experiences as I do. Let's all hope that this site continues to be that guidance for others who have friends and loved ones in any of the IDOC locations.
