I just got notified that he got transfered to danville. I guess atleast it's a little bit closer. Still over 4 hours but oh well. Can anyone give me any information about this place? Also, how do you write the envelopes out for this one? I know dumb question but oh well. I got a real nervous feeling when I got this email. =[

Here is our profile page on Danville:

http://www.illinoisprisontalk.org/index.php/topic,5623.0.html

Also, do a search on the front page of IPT for Danville and I know information will come up.

All the DOC facilites and how to send mail to inmate is found on the DOC WEB site.
Click on the INMATE LOCATOR button on the top of the IPT home page and it will take you directly there.
On the left hand side click facilities, and then find the one you need, it will tell you a little bit about the place and how to address mail.

Good Luck

so
inmate name number
3820 East Main Street
Danville, Il 61834

Is that correct? I'm sorry I've only written this one place and I had to put robinson c.c on it and it was a p.o box

I just want to make sure that I'm doing it correctly so I don't look like an idiot. lol.

And any other info would be much appreciated! Thank you!

You got it, be sure to always put your return address and name on anything you mail, so it doesn't get returned. If you mail in books/magazines, put them in manila envelopes. You can also take them in on visit, 4-5 limit.

So I don't have to put the name of the prison right? Sorry for all the dumb questions. Anyone have any other info like how long is visitation, how is it there, and so on? And thank you for the help. =]

I again urge you to use our Search Feature on the front page of IPT and put in visiting Danville, Danville or whatever else you want to know.  There is alot of information that has already been posted here on IPT that othere have shared for new people like you.

That's the address I wrote down.

It just kind of caught me off guard when he wrote 136 and told me to write at the 136 address when the other address is what I found. SO CONFUSING!! lol
