Great....So there is a work release program there. My hubby said work release was something he would check on right away! Thank you so much for your info. wc30

An inmate has to be 2 years short on his sentence to apply for work release and it depends on the conviction as to whether they can go.

Yes, his atty said he should qualify because he is less than 2 years and only in on traffic offenses. If he could get to Dixon it would be perfect for me (us). But I not gonna get my hopes up cause of how the IDOC works. But gonna try the suggestions ive gotten. thanks

Thank you Forevermah.....I called and spoke with my husbands counselor today (very nice woman). She answered my questions as best she could. She said I could send in the paperwork from my doctor to be considered , BUT there are NO guarantees (which i  know). It would have to be reviewed, then go from there. It is a start. So, I will get what I need from my doctor on Friday. Our atty said she would send a letter to go along with it.

Again, thank you (and everyone else who responded) for your help and info. You are a Godsend. I'm alone and don't even have anyone to talk to. So this has been a lifeline to me. Bless you all!
