Okay, so as many of you know we are nearing the trial for the escape charges.  Last month, he was moved from Graham, where he was in receiving, up to Danville.  When he was in Graham he was about 20 minutes from the courthouse where they are having his trial, now he is 150 miles.  We are wondering if they are going to transfer him on a writ (he has an appearance the 17th and the 29th of August) or if they will just leave him up in Danville and drive him all that way to and from each time.  Anyone have any ideas?

Chances are they will transfer him the Wednesday before court to the closest prison to the courthouse. Then after court transfer him back to his parent institution on the Wednesday following court.

That's what we were thinking.  Will he be able to have access to the phones or visiting privileges?

Visiting list will NOT follow. Phone may since it is already set up. Visiting lists are each institutions responsibility.

My husband had a court hearing in Waukegan, while he was in Taylorville. That's around 250 miles. They drove him there and back in one day just for the hearing in a van. Just him and two COs. He actually had to show them the way to the court house since they did not know the area.

His counselor told him today that they will drive him there and back on the same day. His lawyer will ask to have him remanded so he is close-by to assist with his case. We shall see what happens.

My LO might have to testify against someone else in a case where he was the victim, and it looks as though it will take place during his R&C.  Will the same rules apply?  Any chance for a visit while he is at Cook County (suburban jail)?

Well, after the counselor told him he was staying, an inmate told him that his name was on the transfer list for tomorrow.  Yesterday they came and filled out his writ papers and he IS transferring tomorrow for his writ.  As usual, the inmates know way more about what is actually going on than the staff.
