I know of someone who was on parole.  On his profile it was showing the parole district and a projected discharge date.  Now, it shows Offender Status:  Absconder, and the projected discharge date now reads:  To Be Determined.  Does this mean that he violated his parole in some way but they can't locate him (or he's hiding) to take him back into custody?

It means the person has been violated for something, maybe even for not checking in at the right time, and now they cannot find them to ship them back for the violation.
