Hello everyone!
Does anyone know about setting up the phone to receive calls from Kane County Jail? Is it prepaaid by me or do they have to buy a phone card and set it all up???
Seems things have changed there the past few years.
I know already visitation is set up by appointment only by the inmate.
Any info will help!!
Thank you!!

Welcome back AnglBaby, sorry to see you here again ...   since we don't have any real information posted on Kane Country I did a search and I found this on the Kane County Sheriff Website:

http://www.kanesheriff.com/index.aspx

Detainees at the Kane County Adult Justice Center may have access to a telephone to call family, friends and their attorney through an outside vendor, who competitively bids through the County to provide this service. Detainees are allowed to make either collect only phone calls or calls using a pre-paid calling card, which is purchased through the detainee commissary system. Detainees are assigned a PIN (Personal Identification Number) which they must use to make a call. Each phone call is recorded and the date, time and phone number called is captured in the event harassment of a witness or victim takes place. The announcement is heard by both parties prior to the phone call being connected. The use of the telephone is a privilege and not a right. Detainees' use of the telephone is dependent upon their classification type. Detainees on disciplinary status do not receive telephone privileges. Detainees on administrative lockdown may have limited access to the telephone.

The current telephone provider is Securus Technologies Inc. Friends and family may contact Correctional Billing Services at 1-800-844-6591 for help in establishing an account in order to receive collect phone calls. Please note that the Kane County Adult Justice Center cannot establish accounts or unblock phone numbers.
