Has anyone heard anything about inmates getting aids from hepatitis shots?

My mom called me and told me her neighbor told her that and was telling me to tell my boyfriend not to get any shots.

I'm going to assume she's talking about Hepatitis C which is flourishing in our prisons...are you talking about a contamination of the actual vaccine with HIV or mishandling the needles used for the injections?

I'm not exactly sure. My mom was told they were using inmates as like guinee pigs and were mixing things in the shots and there was the aids virus and such. That's why I'm asking if anyone heard anything.

Does your bf have Hepatitis?  Or are you talking about the vaccine that's given to prevent it?  Either way, I absolutely will assure you that they are NOT experimenting on inmates in the IDOC.  All those medications come sterile from the manufacturers and they couldn't afford the lawsuits if they infected inmates with HIV...I wouldn't worry about it for one minute....

I totally agree with Dazz here. The lawsuit would be tremendous so in no way would it be considered an opportunity to use inmates for testing.  People love to start rumors from stories of long long ago times.

Believe it or not, there are many good people working for the IDOC and they would never stand by and allow medical testing on our inmates.  Those are horror stories from many years ago...it just could never happen nowadays, at least not in the US.
