Cesar Sanchez is his name...he's 37.  The van was moving at the time...why wasn't he shackled to the van?  They say he was handcuffed and in a yellow jumpsuit.

Something like this doesn't happen every day. Don't the CO's have guns? Not like I'd condone shooting anyone, inmate or not. But still. Wow! I'mma go turn the news on now.

It's actually a tan jumpsuit he is in.  My inmate was transported by the CO's from Stateville to court once and they took off his handcuffs and bought him food.  They weren't supposed to do this...but apparently it's still going on....they are going to be in Internal Affairs for a long time....LOL.

I'm almost willing to bet that this was preplanned and there was a car in the vicinity to run to the border......or he is just goofy....there's nothing around that area...

Some facilities have gone on lockdown....this is so the tactical units from other prisons can get to Joliet to aid in the search....this happens during escapes....so don't get too excited about it....they don't have enough security with their units away so they go on lockdown.

I'm afraid he's going to Pontiac or Tamms after that stunt....he escaped about 2:15 so he's got a good head start....

I don't know how long Stateville might be on lockdown...they have to use their personnel to tract this guy....so it doesn't leave a lot of security at the prison....
