I have a question about sending money with JPay to a new Statesville inmate.  I read in the "Getting started, when a loved one enters IDOC" on prisiontalk that commissary is accepted.  I have read from others comments it is not.  Does anyone have insight on this?  I just sent money via JPay this morning.  It pulled up my son's name so I thought everything was OK.

If your son has been sent to Stateville for R&C (reception and classification), then he will not be able to go to commissary. But don't worry. The money you put into his account will transfer with him when he is moved to his parent facility.

If he is a permanent resident there, then the money will be put on the books and he can go shopping.
