Hello i am new to all of this stuff and not sure exactly what is happening or is going to happen to my fiance who just got transfered to Graham! He is in R&C right now it says and has been there for a week yesterday!! He has the chance to do bootcamp or the judge signed the paper and then they said he will see a counsler there and they will decide if he is eligable to go! Is that how it works? Is it hard to get into? When you write letters can you send pictures while they are in R&C and if so do they get to take them with them wherever they go like if for instance boot camp? Thank you!!!

He will be evaluated to see if he is elegible for the bootcamp program. If he is approved, it becomes a waiting game until a space at one of the camps opens up.

Definitely send him lots of letters. R&C is very difficult because of the lack of contact with friends and family. If he gets into bootcamp (fingers crossed for y'all), he is only allowed a certain amount of photos. Anything over that amount will either be sent home or trashed.

Yep, send the pics now. He'll be able to enjoy them while in R&C. They will evaluate him to make sure he is physically and mentally capable of participating in the program. It is very tough and there are a lot of people wanting to get into it, so DOC doesn't waste time on those they don't think have a chance of succeeding.

If you haven't done so yet, check out our Bootcamp board. It has tons of info on it, and we have some great bootcampers as part of IPT.

Welcome to IPT!

When they are moved to bootcamp they are only allowed to take so many pictures with them, I believe Dixon Springs only allows 3 at one time,  so don't send him too many, he will only have to send them back or destroy them and be sure they have no contraband in them.

I suggest you go to the link MarksGuy gave you above and do a search for photos/pictures on that board to pull up all the information you are going to need through his journey in bootcamp!

Congrats on your LO getting approved for BC.

You will get a call telling stating that he has been moved (yes they tell you where), then you can look him up on the IDOC site and see the new picture.

Good Luck ,Best Wishes and WELCOME to IPT.    wc12
