Welcome to IPT.

To answer your question, I am assuming that your loved one just went into the system?

Regular phone calls aren't permitted until they enter their parent institution, which could take some time....you may ask what does this mean?  It means that at first they get processed at a place such as Stateville or Graham --- then IDOC determines their ultimate placement.

This process can take some time, based on your loved one's conviction and bed space.

On rare occasions, they are allowed phone calls when they are undergoing the process phase.

I would suggest that you register with Consolidated, so that you can access phone calls, when he is allowed to call.

In the meantime, to answer your question ---- NO, phone calls are not limited to 15 minutes....as per the day of the week --- that depends on your inmate, where he is placed, etc....

Hope this helps.

Hi. My fiancee has been at Graham in R&C since December 5,2011. He was transferred out for a court date, but he is back now. He told me via letter that he is not allowed calls until he is out of R&C and that many other guys have been there for over 90 days waiting for bed space to open up. I don't want to be a downer, I just want you to be prepared for the possibility. It so hard not hearing our loved ones voices....I know. Hope you hear from him soon!! Feel free to private message me anytime.
