My LO is in Logan and he told me on our last visit that starting on Monday, February 6, 2012 that they were going to be on 22/2 meaning they will be locked up up most of the time now with no day room activities or nothing. I was wondering do you know what might be the reason for that. The only thing that is keeping him sane about that is he will be coming home in 62 days. It seem like it is getting worse by the day, if you put to much of anything in a room long enough it will start to break. I think that is a bad idea, but the rules are the rules.

As of right now, it seems like Logan will  be locked down  21/3, from what we hear they are calling it rotating schedules and different units will be allowed out of their cells at different times.

If and when we get more information on this whole thing, IPT will be posting it!

Some inmates are saying 18/6 and some 21/3, we'll just have to wait to see for sure.

Is this for the entire institution or just for "X" house?

x house is on 21/3 and the dorm buildings are on 18/6 (because they don't have their own bathrooms)  X house inmates keys were taken away.  The other small housing units keep theirs since they have a different set up for living.

I was there on Wednesday and was told this directly by staff.  There is alot of tension among the inmates.  Alot of fights over phones and showers have already happened.  Seg is filled.  Other guys are walking themselves to seg to get out of there.

Wow, that sounds horrible, I'm glad my l/o is not there anymore! Is this for costing savings? I don't understand why, would they do this, I guess its not for me to question!

But I do think it is for us to question.  If we don't, who will?  The conditions sound horrible and my l/o isn't even there and I'm concerned about this facility.

They are doing the same thing in the STC pods at Dixon.  My L/O's unit just went to 18/6 last month, though he says his is the only one so far.  A new Asst. Warden supposedly put it in place when he arrived.  Needless to say, everyone hates him.
