Good Morning,
This is to anyone that can possibly steer me in the right direction. I posted about a week or so ago, updating about Mr. Williams being brought back to Illinois. I then learned that he was sent to Stateville and, will soon be released June 6, 2011. I contacted Menard to see what did I need to do in order to help Mr. Williams become aware of what he needed to do to become paroled. I was told that since he did not have an address in the system, we needed to contact a Field Service Officer immediately. I was given a field officer's name of Veronica Sherman. the number was 217-782-4228. This was on Monday the 16th that I called and left a message. Today is Friday and I have not received any response. Can anyone give me some clearer directions here. Because I am in Florida.......I depend on you guys as my IPT family to get me on the right course....or at least in the ball park.

Hope to see you guys one day in Illinois.......

I would call back and if it goes to voicemail, hit "0" and ask for supervisor.

wc7 I finally got through today.....The problem was that was the incorrect phone number for who I was trying to reach. We now have a field service officer. But, just curious as to how long will it take to get a walk through ?  His release date is the 6th of June 2011, in just 2 weeks.  wc50 I know that he has been in Florida all of this time, but wasn't sure of the process.
Now he is at the door and we're finding out that he needed the field service officer to come out. I mean no one told him that his family had to contact anyone. They told us that we can call back on Friday to see if it was approved.

Hello,
I have a loved one at Hill Correctional Center.  This is a level 2 prison.   He is locked up for theft and drug paraphanila.   I think he should of been placed in a less security prison due to his crime.  I called and spoke with the Transfer Coordinator Sandra Funk, and she stated that this was the bed available at the time of placement.   He has put in a transfer to tAYLORVILLE, but has not heard anything yet.  Now, if he was placed in a Level 2 and doesnt belong in a level 2.  Cant he be really considered for a transfer?  Im confused and upset about this...  Anything else I can be doing?  Please help!

If he was sent to Hill because of bed space and not because of his sentence, then he is elegible for a transfer to a lower security prison. Here is the hard part, however. Most facilities have a time requirement. For some, it is 6 months residence, at others it is a year. He must be there for that amount of time before the transfer is even considered. Also, there isn't anything you can do to speed the process or to guarantee a transfer. If this way, as well as many others, we on the outside are powerless to make things happen.

Does anyone know the e-mail address for the ARB in Springfield?  Or anyone in that office?

If you are looking for the review board for prison related issues, I would call 217-558-2200  and ask for that office/department, within IDOC.

Welcome to IPT.

This is the main Springfield #  217-558-2200  ... you can ask the operator who in Springfiel handles, whatever it is you are looking for.

Are you sure it's Springfield you want and not someone at his parent prison?
