Our new website for our telephone campaign is up and running today.  You may have noticed the large button on the home page that will take you directly to the site.  The petition is moving along quite nicely, although we could use some help getting some paper petitions signed.

Mah worked her butt off last week getting the site set up...THANKS MAH!! ;)    She did a great job, especially with me annoying her all week!!

And our new member Tat2u drew the logo for the website.  Thanks Tat...hmm, can't wait til I get the bill for that one...LOL

So, if you get a moment take a peek at the site and let others know that our campaign is off and running....

The website address is:  www.illinoistelephonejustice.com

Yes, we are still collecting signatures on our Telephone Petiton.   We've had offers of help from the successful New York Telephone Campaign and as soon as we have a healthy amount of signatures we will begin to approach legislators or possibly attorneys to change the IDOC telephone policy...I'd like to remind everyone to sign the petiton on-line and print off a few paper copies for your friends/co-workers/families to sign.

Daz Question:

So we can't do anything until we have how many signatures?  Is this in court already or are we waiting for the signatures?  What's going on?  How did N.Y. get a relieve on their phone calls?  I am asking cause I don't know what's going on.  Thanks for all your help.

I just wanted to pop this back up as I'm going to a family function this weekend & wanted to print off petition for signatures. Just a reminder to all of us, many holiday festivities coming up for all of us could generate a few more signatures from those in the sympathetic/giving mood so we can get this rolling.

Our petition has over 500 signatures online and we've got about 100 more on paper petitions.  I don't think we can do much or approach any legislators to sponsor anything for phone bill relief without at least 1,000 signatures....if everyone could just make a big push and get some paper petitions signed it could make a huge difference and speed this up....
