Yeah, I think they've been locked down long enough- all it does is cause irritability. One of the guards told me that it was up to Springfield. I wonder if we should call Springfield a million times... of course that might irritate them!

Inech - what a happy birthday and a Merry Christmas for you and your loved one!!! I'm glad you made your trip safely. The weather sure has taken a turn for the worse. Humbird, when did you have your visit? We could have been there at the same time!! Jane, I sure do hope this lockdown ends ASAP and you can get a phone call before the new year!
I was also wondering about the library incident. When I was visiting, I saw more than one CO everywhere we were. Did the inmate have a weapon that they couldn't just overpower him??

Well, the librarian was probably a CO herself or she wouldn't be working there. That guy had probably scoped it out for sometime and knew he could get her alone.

Hi Debbier.....We were at Pinckneyville on Tuesday the 22nd, around noon! Wish there was a way we could tell who each other is, or any others that go there to visit......I guess we could let the others know when, and what we would be wearing, and around what time? Humbird

I was there on Wednesday, so I guess I didn't see you! I was looking around wondering if the other people were on this site! There wasn't very many people there though....

Speaking from experience when Jacksonville went on LD because of a staff assault, it was close to a month that they were on. They will come off, it's going to take time, you just have to be patient. Calling Springfield won't get them off any sooner. I feel for you guys, but it will be over at some point.

Yeah - it's only been 2 weeks since the hostage thing but they were on lock down for a week before that. I feel like I haven't talked to him in forever. Its frustrating because i don't know how much money he needs or anything. I've only received 1 letter. I pray they come off soon.

Today I received a phone call from my fiance, he told me they were slowly coming off lockdown and that they would get day room during the day but not at night. They are able to go to the store but there is a limit on how much they can spend.

My son called at 8:00 p.m.....he said they are on level 4 lockdown still! They let the workers have day room so they could make calls. My son will get to shop on Friday, but only $30 worth. They do get to go to work now.....we will be going to visit on Monday, don't want to interfere with the shopping day.....Humbird

Well this is interesting because my son is in 1 house and he is NOT a worker and the area all allowed dayroom in the morning. I talked to a counselor after he called and she said yes isn't this great they're finally off ....

I have read on here that they are allowed 5 visits per month, is that 5 days or 5 people? So if two people went one day does he have 4 visits left that month? Are holidays just the major holidays, or all holidays? I went last Monday which wasn't a federal holiday, does that count. All things considered the visits went well, frustrating trying to get the rules correct; wish i would have found this site before the visits. For those visitors not sure about parking you have to park at the far end of the lot, the is a hand written sign and parking spots marked "Visitors Parking"; learned that from being corrected. Oh well by the time DB transfers I'll get it right. Thanks for your help

You get five visits per month at P'ville, only two of which can be on the weekends. Holidays are considered weekends, I believe. The amount of people visiting doesn't matter (but I think it can only be a maximum of 3).

Hi everyone, my husband was just transferred to Pickneyville yesterday (thank god out of Stateville). He is in on a parole violation, he was in Lawrence last year. So on the the IDOC it says that Pickneyville is on lockdown. Can anyone confirm or deny this? And does anyone know if his visitor list is transferred with him from one prison to another with time off in between or does he have to do an entirely new phone and visitor list? Ugh, I thought i'd never have to visit another prison. Oh well, it is what it is. Please fill me in on any new rules or any info that you think may help mel Thank you sooooo much in advance. ~~Trish

Trish, found this on the lockdown status on this site, I hope they come off soon, I usually visit on Friday. There is a link on the lockdown main page that talks about levels and things allowd.
I just called the CO told me it's only r1 is on lockdown and he said they wouldn't be on lockdown long.....

Today I just got news that my lo is being transfered to pinkneyville, he says its not a good place to be, and after readin these post, I am startin to get nervous bout his stay there!! Can anyone ease my mind about his stay there, he is disabled and I was wondering if anyone knew if they have any kind of resources to help people who need medical attention daily? Also visits where he is now you can visit all day everyday through the week if you would like, and according to the post on here you are limited to only 5, 4hour, visits per month? thats goin to be a big change to adjust to.
