Ok so I have finally visited Thomson...my guy's brother is in the msu there.  It's actually pretty laid back, the c/o's don't even sit in the visiting room!  The visiting room is really tiny, I think maybe a total of 9 tables or so.  You have to call one week in advance to schedule a visit and I think the visiting hours are 10AM-6PM every day. Visits are 4 hours long even on weekends and holidays.  They are very child friendly there, and have a pretty decent selection of things for the kids to play with.  They are allowed 8 visits a month, only 2 can be weekend/holiday visits.  The vending machine cards are $5.00, and the prices in the vending machines are kind of expensive compared to where J is at.  But overall, it was pretty relaxed!

sound pretty good compared to Stateville. More visiting, longer hours and a place for kids to play. One of the hardest things about visiting Stateville is keeping my 2 year old granddaughter busy.

The max isn't open yet, just the minimum.  I think there are around 200 guys there now.
