roe, the next topic on this board explains how to order SS for your inmate.  It's free of charge for current inmates.

The last published issue (June) is on here.  September hasn't been released yet.

In April a special Tamms 10 year issue of SS was mailed to the inmates who receive SS.  We are finding out now that (we believe) that the DOC did not distribute this, however we do not have proof.  If any IPT members have inmates that receive SS, can you check with them to see if they received the April issue (it's specifically on Tamms).  If they have, or have not, can you let me know?  I'd also like to know what facility they are in.

Thanks for your help with this.

I am sorry to be posting back at this late date, but I just noticed this. I remember my H. telling me he did get this issue, and telling me about the article. He is at Stateville.

Could you let me know when the paper comes out to those that purchased it? I did send my $10 fee and I got one copy. After that, I have received nothing more. I can read the paper on here, but I find it enjoyable to have a hard copy.

Any information about this is very welcomed. Thanks.

The last issue of SS mailed was July 08, the one before that was special tamms issus that was NOT delivered to prisoners but you should have gotten one if you are on mailing list. Latest issue (December) is late and will be  mailed next week. I do have a few extra copies of the July if you didnt get it.
SS is printed three times a year plus an occassional special

The January 2009 edition of Stateville Speaks has been posted.  This is a special edition produced by students at Loyola University Chicago with various academic backgrounds, including majors in Journalism, Public Relations, Spanish, Criminal Justice and Chemistry.

I've read the first few pages of it, and find it to be very interesting and well-written.

ielene, the one issue that didn't make it in was the one on Tamms.  There's even an article in this issue about it.
