Maybe someone can help me here.I've been trying to find out information about my Niece .She's not in the Illinois system. She's in the Federal New Mexico system. I've  managed to get some information on the case from court files.I know where she housed at, but can not even find her in the system and believe me I've looked. Is there any web site you can recommend?I even contacted the prison and they send a email saying she was there.I want to know more. Can't find any record's on the arrest, booking. The Jail web site doesn't even have her in it.Any suggestions? She's been there 5 month so some records have to exist.
                                Thanks

Have you looked for her in the Federal Inmate Locator?  I'm not sure how they list their inmates...whether their charges are listed, along with an outdate, etc.  Her arrest records would probably be in a Federal court somewhere....if you know what federal district she was arrested in you might start there.  How about your niece?  Have you asked her for the information?  I don't think federal arrestees are held in County jails as state offenders are.  She might not be in their inmate information system if she's been shipped elsewhere...but her records should be on file after her transfer.  Have you tried their records department?

Thank's for the response. She's in custody of the U.S. Marshall and they won't release any information. They say privacy issues .I have spoke to my Niece and she reluctant to talk on the phone or write about it because they monitor everything.I've emailed the Marshalls and they say we got her and her # but won't release information.I did manage to get some information from Pacer@psc.uscourtsgov.I just don't understand why when I enter her name at the correctional center she in it's like she's not there. Is the reason because she hasn't been convicted yet and is awaiting trial ? ??? )

Yes, that could be the reason...more than likely it is the reason.  Does she have an attorney?  An attorney would be able to get those facts...arrest records, etc.

Once again you been very helpful. My Sister has spoken to her attorney.I'm not sure if she asked for any records,I'll have to tell her ask him for copies of the transcript's.
I'm originally from Chicago.I have a Son who was in for 3 Year's. So I can relate to all these people who have loved ones behind bars. It's a difficult thing to deal with for all involved. You just try to get any information to find some peace of mind and understand it.

Yes, we totally understand mm....it's so difficult to get information from correctional departments, especially the Feds.  It sounds as if your niece was arrested and there isn't much available yet, except maybe an arrest record, until she has a trial.  After the trial the information will be public record and it should be obtainable, maybe through the Freedom of Information Act, but it should be available.

Okay this is what I heard......when a person is in the custody of US Marshalls and they don't show up on the bop.gov web site as at a location,  it means they are being transported.  Hope this helps, I did not know this a friend shared it with me and wanted me to share it with you ladies.

Thank you friend!  Be blessed.

So glad to hear you solved the problem and you've obtained the transcripts.  If she hasn't gone to trial yet I certainly wish your family the best with the outcome.
